Top Restaurant & Food
This tree map lists the most common food and restaruant in US. The larger the rectangle is, the more restaurants of this type that US has. It is clear to see that the top four are “Nightlife”, “Bars”, “Americans(New)”, and “Americans(Traditional)”. It is not so hard to imagine the chasing of nightlife among Americans.
By using text visualization, we also looked at the most checked-in food & restaurant in US. Comparing with the last one, it seems that more text information are involved in this one. In this case, maybe only top 3 will catch our sight, and most of them are related to bars.
What is the most popular restaurant in U.S. ?
Apart from the common food & restaurants, we would better check something subjective, like the rating from customers. In this picture, we use circular cartogram to show such information. As we can see easily, based on the rule, the larger the circle, the higher the rating, “Food Tracks”, “Vegan”, “Meat shops” as well as “chocolatier & shops” are obviously the top four. We could guess that “food tracks” are popular because it is convenient in American’s daily life.
Which restaurant has the highest score in Yelp ?
We use bar chart to list the top 23 rated food & restaurant in US. As we can see, “shaved ice”, “Cheese shops”, “poke”, “Gelato” are listed in the top four here.
